How do I become a MarineLink supplier?

Four steps. Create an account on the supplier page with your email and a password, then click the confirmation link we email you. Fill in your company details and press "Submit for approval". Our team reviews the application — you get an email as soon as a decision is made. Once approved, the parts upload opens in your portal.

What company information do I have to fill in?

Company name, contact person, business email, phone number with country code, country, VAT or company registration number, full company address, years in business, the engine brands you supply, and a short description of your company (stock, certifications, warehouses). Your website is optional. Every one of those fields must be complete before you can upload parts.

How long does approval take?

Accepted Answer

Applications are read by a person, not approved automatically, so the time depends on how much we are reviewing that week. You always get an email either way. If you have not heard back, email sales@marinelinksolutions.com from the address you registered with and we will check your application.

How do I know whether I have been approved?

Sign in at /supplier. While you wait, the page shows "your application is under review" together with the supplier guide. When you are approved, the parts upload appears. If an application is not approved, the page says so and shows the reason our team recorded.

Can I upload parts before I am approved?

Accepted Answer

No. The upload table and the photo buttons only appear once your account is approved, so nothing reaches the catalogue without a completed company profile behind it.

I lost my password. How do I get back in?

On the supplier sign-in form press "Forgot your password?" (type your email address first). You receive an email with a link to set a new password, and it brings you straight back to the supplier portal.

Do you accept distributors and stockists, or only manufacturers?

Accepted Answer

Distributors, stockists and independent traders are welcome. What matters is that you state, for every item, whether it is genuine, OEM or aftermarket, the country where it was made, and the condition. That way buyers always know exactly what they are being quoted.

Which files can I upload?

Accepted Answer

Excel (.xlsx or .xls), CSV or PDF. A PDF with selectable text is read directly; a scanned PDF is read page by page, so keep scanned lists to a reasonable length. Clear column headings at the top of the file make the reading far more accurate.

What does the system take from my file?

Part numbers, part names and prices per item are pulled out automatically into an editable table. Everything else — brand, engine model, part type, country of origin, condition and photos — you complete in the same table before submitting. Always check the extracted lines; the AI is good but not perfect.

What does every part line need before I can submit?

Accepted Answer

Five things on every row: a part number, a part name, your price per item in euro, the part type, the country of origin and the condition. Rows still missing something are highlighted in red, and the submit button stays disabled until they are complete.

What is the difference between genuine, OEM and aftermarket?

Accepted Answer

Genuine means the original engine manufacturer's own part. OEM means made by the company that originally supplied that part to the manufacturer. Aftermarket means made by a different manufacturer. Choose the one that is true for each item — it is shown to the buyer.

What condition can I state for a part?

Accepted Answer

New, Used or Reconditioned. The condition you pick is shown on the catalogue listing, so please be accurate about what you actually hold.

Can I set the same details for all my parts at once?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Above the table there is an "Apply to all rows" panel where you can set part type, country of origin, brand, engine model and condition for the whole upload in one go, then correct individual rows afterwards.

Question 14

Which currency and price should I give?

Accepted Answer

Euro, for one item — your own sell price, not a total or a price per box. We add a handling margin to it before customers see it, and your price is never shown to them.

I do not have a spreadsheet. Can I still list parts?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Press "Add row manually" and type the parts in directly. There is no listing fee, so a short list is fine to start with.

Can I correct or withdraw a part after submitting it?

While a part is still "Under review" you can delete it yourself from "Your submitted parts". Once it has been published into the catalogue, email sales@marinelinksolutions.com with the part number and we will amend or withdraw it.

How do I add photos to a part?

Every row in the upload table has a camera button. Press it and choose up to five photos for that part — JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 5 MB each. Press a thumbnail to remove that photo. Photo buttons appear once your account is approved.

What kind of photos should I send?

Photograph the actual part you have in stock, not a manufacturer's catalogue picture. A shot of the part number or nameplate marking is especially useful, because buyers match parts by the marking on the component in front of them.

Are photos required?

Accepted Answer

No — a part can be listed without photos, and condition is the only visual detail that is mandatory. Parts with real photos, though, are the ones customers trust and enquire about, so it is worth the two minutes.

Will my photos appear to customers?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When our team publishes your part into the MarineLink catalogue, the photos and the condition you stated go with the listing, along with the part type and country of origin. Your company name and your price do not.

Can I use a manufacturer's brochure image instead?

Accepted Answer

Please don't. Buyers are ordering the item you actually hold, so a brochure picture misleads them and slows the sale down. A plain photo of the part on a bench is far better than a polished catalogue image.

What happens when a customer orders one of my parts?

Accepted Answer

We contact you directly, by email or phone, with the part number and quantity and confirm your price and availability. You never deal with the end customer — MarineLink is the party on the order from start to finish.

Will the customer see my company or my price?

Accepted Answer

No. Customers see MarineLink, the part, the part type and the country of origin. Your company name and your price are never shown on the catalogue or in the customer's order.

Question 24

How do I track what I have sold?

Accepted Answer

Your supplier dashboard shows parts in the catalogue, parts still under review, orders received, units sold and your total sales at your own prices, plus your best-selling parts and a list of recent orders.

When does an order count as sold?

Accepted Answer

Only orders we have set to Confirmed or Completed count towards units sold and sales. A new order appears in your order list straight away, but it does not count until we have confirmed it with you.

Question 26

What do the order statuses mean?

Accepted Answer

New order means it has just come in. Confirmed means we have placed it with you. Completed means it has been fulfilled. Cancelled means it did not go ahead. Nothing changes your prices — you always see your own figure.

How and when do I get paid?

Payment is agreed between you and MarineLink directly — it is not handled by the website. Email sales@marinelinksolutions.com with your terms and bank details before your first order so everything is settled in advance.

Who is responsible for delivery to the customer?

MarineLink handles the customer's delivery. Where a part ships straight from your stock, we agree that with you on the order itself, including the address and the deadline, before you send anything.
